Some Memorable Quotes From The Book“You mean that Chloe just told you that she followed a ghost onto a roof, and you didn’t blast her all the way to Canada?* "That's what this is about, Derek. You won't let us worry about you because you don't think you're worth it. But I do. I absolutely do"
"And I don't smell like dinner, right?"

Some Quotes From The Critics“This nail-biting climax to the series continues to captivate readers with its edge-of-one’s-seat pacing. Armstrong’s story is full of action, romance, deception, and intrigue as well as complex characters and serious teenage issues. A satisfying addition for fans of the supernatural.” (School Library Journal )Reviews For The Other Books In The TrilogyFor THE SUMMONING: “Action, danger, supernatural secrets, and a hint of romance--Armstrong’s world is one in which trusting the wrong person can have dire consequences. You’ll be desperate for a sequel.” (Melissa Marr )
For THE AWAKENING: “Armstrong’s vermiculate plot will exhilarate even readers new to the series...Teens grappling with their own transformations and alienating individuality will certainly follow these characters to the book’s final pages and into the next volume.” (Kirkus Reviews (starred review) )
For THE AWAKENING: “Chloe and her fellow supernatural teens struggle to find someone who will help them combat the group that’s trying to take them hostage, and there’s never a slow moment in their journey or a false line in Armstrong’s writing.” (Charlaine Harris ) videos not done yet
This is the official trailer for the book The Reckoning. It tells you what will happen in the book.
This was a contest entry to make a trailer for the first book in the Darkest Powers series. It gave an over look of what happen first, so I thought that it would be a good one.
*This quote is near the beginning of the book and Simon says it when he finds Chloe and Derek sitting on the roof and Chloe tells him that she saw a ghost. Normally whenever Chloe does anything even partially stupid Derek goes off on her about it. I think it's because he likes her and wants to protect her. According to the book it's because he sort of feels responsible for her because she helped him more than once. I think this quote is funny because even Simon knows that, because he is a werewolf, Derek has anger issues and yells at Chloe a lot.**This line is said by Chloe when she is talking to Derek. Derek is always very protective, and by this part he has already told Chloe that he likes her and she knows that she likes him. They are not quite fighting but bickering on whether Derek is worth risking. Everyone always tells Derek that he needs to be more careful when it comes to the Edison group, but he pretends that he isn't scared of them. We know that he is but just wants to make sure that Chloe and Simon are safe. If they are at all in Danger he puts himself at risk. In this line Chloe is telling Derek that she cares about him and wants him to be safe.
*Chloe says this line too. She says it when Derek has just made his first complete change into a werewolf and she is asking him if he has any urge to eat her. He didn't know what would happen when he became a werewolf because he had never had anyone to tell him. They are to rare to call one up and ask them and there are not any books on werewolves like there are for necromancers and witches. Cloe has been there every time he has started to change and so she doesn't want to leave now, but if there is any danger in her dying both she and Derek would want her to leave.
